Hey everyone!
Just thought I would check in again and see if the posting will go through! Had a little luck the last time so am pushing it again!
Hope you are all ok. I talked to Raeann and Hailee the other day and they are ok.....but it sure sounds like that area has been devastated. My sister lives in Cedar Rapids and may have lost everything she owns......not sure how bad because she hasn't been able to get in the area to see the damage. She is safe and sound and did get her dogs and cats out so there is always something to be grateful for.
As for Ottumwa.........we have really had some damage here. Our outlying areas and some trailer courts and homes close to the river have been destroyed or heavily damaged. I am reminding myself daily to be so thankful for the many blessings I have because so many people are absolutely devastated by the damages in their lives, homes and community. My home is safe, dry and we are all ok.
I am at work and have been so busy there and at home too. My niece and her two children moved in a few weeks ago and so there is me, my two teenagers and Jill and her little ones.....oh, yeah, and my big old dog, Tank. Life is good but is messy too.......I don't know that this ever changes but it always brings with it many moments of immense bliss mixed in and that makes all the unsure and chaotic times worth walking through. I am so grateful today and filled with joy for being in recovery and for the life I have been given......now and in my past. They have all been blessings. Thanks for being an important part of my life.
Sending you big hugs from soggy Iowa!!!!!!!!! Judy
