    Trial Home Placement

My kids are officially coming home Friday.

It's really not that big of a deal because they've been here since last Friday. The reunification plan started with one night a week, then 2, then 3 and so on. I've been picking the kids up from school/daycare every day of the week for the last month, so their final night in foster care will be more a break for us and a sleepover for them.  It won't seem final either- we're going to get together with them after RU, and the kids might go there for sleepovers sometimes. The only difference will be that it's our idea, not something CPS is forcing on us.

Long term, I'm hoping to be able to help other parents through this. I didn't have much to go on. I had an online friend who'd had 10 children taken, 8 TPR'd, and 2 died in foster care, and her story helped me avoid making the same mistakes. Since one set of her children's foster parents had made accusations that caused delays that dragged their case past 15 months, I figured it was a good idea to be on good terms with the foster parents. Since she'd tried going on the lam, only to get caught, I figured that was a bad idea.

    Eomaia,

Congradulations!  And yes it is a big deal because they are back home and your again, you must realize alot of women never get there children back, because they are not stong enough to fight the system and or the addiction is to stong.

You should be proud of yourself for putting your children first and focusing on reunification.  I don't even know you and I am proud of you.

It took me losing my children 3 times before I decided I had enough and I couldn't put my children through this anymore.

Enjoy your children everyday just like it is the last day everyday

    Kim
