Moms Off Meth Makes a Difference (AWARD)
The Partnership for a Drug-Free Iowa joined with the State of Iowa today in honoring Moms Off Meth with an award for its help in the fight against drug abuse. The award was presented during the Partnership's Celebrating Success and Confronting New Challenges statewide tour to kickoff a new Hope, Help and Healing public service campaign.
The Hope, Help and Healing campaign is designed to help family members intervene and seek treatment for those who may be addicted to drugs.
Citing an extraordinary contribution and commitment to reducing the use of illegal drugs in Iowa Moms Off Meth was presented with a certificate of Appreciation from Governor Tom Vilsack, Iowa Drug Policy Coordinator Marvin Van Haaften and Partnership for a Drug-Free Iowa President Barry Spear.
"Recent surveys show that substance abuse continues to decline in communities across Iowa," said Van Haaften. "This just goes to show that organizations like Moms Off Meth do make a difference."
